June 2023 - Planets and Astrology Roundup

We begin the month with the most delicious karmic healing when Jupiter conjuncts the North Node and end the month with both the Sun and Moon entering Cancer, the sign of the mother.

How can you nourish and nurture yourself this month and embed your value and self-worth? How can you make it easy for yourself to recognise and say “yes” to opportunity, expansion and growth offered by two Jupiter transits.

1st June Jupiter and North Node Conjunction at 3 degrees Taurus
Jupiter wants you to experience expansion, growth, abundance and prosperity. Jupiter is your faith, trust and hope. Jupiter is what you believe in, your optimism (or pessimism). Jupiter teaches you about risk, but can also bring over-indulgence, over-expansion and over-reaching yourself. 

The North Node is your path of purpose, the energy that pulls you into your future, imagine it as a magnet, the starlight that tugs on your soul. The North Node wants you to experience the unknown, something deeper, more meaningful. 

This is a time of opportunity and change, fear of things being different and out of your control can surface causing you to dig your heels in and resist. Taurus is an Earth sign and can be a bit of “stick in the mud”. Or you can embrace the possibility that change brings something new and updated that will make your life easier. 

Jupiter has not met the North Node in Taurus since 1929, so this is a once in a lifetime transit. 

Jupiter wants you to take the path of least resistance, the North Node is pulling you into your Soul Aligned future, what is holding you back is the karmic ties created by the low vibrational energy of Scorpio, the sign that the South Node is currently sitting in. 

4th June Full Moon at 13 degrees in Sagittarius 
This Full Moon sees La Luna, Queen of the Heavens enmeshed in two powerful relationships. A square (tense) with Saturn and a trine (harmony) with Mars. 

Imagine the Lady of the Night in a tense, triggering confrontation with Saturn, Lord of Time in Pisces, at the same time turning to her current best friend and ally, Mars in Leo. 

Saturn can create delays or conflict in order to draw your attentions to something that isn’t working. Mars is the planet of action and passion. After your buttons have been pressed and you are aware of the problem (Saturn) you can turn to your ally for the solution to the problem (Mars).

Mars in Leo offers bold, courageous action fuelled by passion and perseverance to overcome feelings of frustration at obstacles in your way. 

The house that Sagittarius, Pisces and Leo cover in your natal chart will give you an idea of the areas of your life this transit can affect.

5th June Venus enters Leo 
This transit is very important because Venus is going to dance across the Leo ruled part of your life for a record 4 months. She turns retrograde in July, going back over old ground before moving forwards again, finally leaving Leo in October.

Venus in the planet of attraction, she is your heart energy, how you relate to others. Leo is “look at me energy”. Leo wants you to shine your light, to radiate your heart energy, to be magnetic.  

When she first swings her royal cloak of Leo across her shoulders, she will be creating an opposition with Pluto who is also moving retrograde. Oppositions create transformation from within, what has been hidden in your heart that has been stopping you from shinning like the bright star that you are? 

Pluto can also bring things up from the past, old lovers or themes that have run through past relationships that have affected your self-worth and value may bubble up in order to be purged, released and let go. 

If you notice you are being over dramatic, slamming doors or dissolving into tears and tantrums ask yourself what your inner child needs that she didn’t get and reward yourself with emotional honesty. Remember that your feelings, wants and desires are just as important as everyone else’s.

11th June Pluto Re-Enters Capricorn 
Pluto is the slowest moving planet in our solar system. He is the Agent of Change and Transformation. He has dipped his toe in the Aquarian water, given us a taste of what is to come over the next 20 years but he is not quite done with Capricorn. 

This is the last chance for you to tie up loose ends in the area of your life ruled by Capricorn. Think of this as the last look around your old house before you hand over the keys to the estate agent to pass onto the new owners. 

Have you left an old cardboard box in the loft, forgotten (on purpose) because it was too difficult or uncomfortable to clear it out?

Over the next 7 months Pluto in Capricorn will ask you to reflect on what you would like to do differently in the next 20 years of your life, what is in your cardboard box that you are avoiding emptying out? 

Are you abdicating responsibility by leaving it for the new owners or is it time to get cobwebs in your hair and dust on your clothes, be a grown up and clear up your secrets and hidden cardboard box? 

11th June Mercury enters Gemini
Mercury is in his element in Gemini it is one of his rulership’s. Mercury in Gemini wants to have fun, socialise, be light-hearted, articulate clear and concise. 

This is a great transit to write, speak, do research or share your ideas. 

Mercury in Gemini can also be a bit “flighty”, you may struggle to keep track of ALL the ideas and stay on task, imagine the butterfly that lands on the pretty flower and then sees another one, and flits over to that one and the next one and the one after that! 

17th June Saturn turns retrograde at 7 degrees Pisces
When a slower moving planet such as Saturn stations retrograde or direct pay attention, imagine the planet beaming down its energy on one spot, for…a…long…time…

Imagine the laser light and its intensity focused on one place, your attention focused on one place. Saturn retrograde is making you notice, see and recognise something you have missed; it is asking you to stop and smell the roses rather than ambling on past. 

The area of your life (house) that 7 degrees Pisces relates to will be the focus, if you have planets or angles around 7 degrees you will notice this even more. 

Ask yourself what you have been avoiding that you can no longer ignore, don’t worry if you don’t know what the solution is right now, when Saturn travels back over this part of your chart at the end of this year the solution will show itself if you have not already uncovered it yourself. 

18th June New Moon Gemini 26 degrees
In the days leading up to the exact New Moon feminine energy falls away, you experience the Dark Moon phase.  Things can feel extra emotional, tense, you may feel a need to hide away, to retreat. After the exact New Moon at 5.37am, as the energy of the Moon begins to build, is the time to set your New Moon intentions, the energy that you want to align to for the coming month. 

This New Moon is squaring Neptune, the planet of mystery and magic, veils and idealism. 

You may be presented with something that you just didn’t see coming, an external event that appears as if from nowhere. 

Because you have free will, you can choose how you respond to things that appear out of the blue, rather than change being a shock, you can view it as an opportunity to dissolve unrealistic expectations, to stay present in the here and now, pay attention to what you are shown and view it all with a different perspective. 

What would you need to align your energy, thoughts, beliefs and emotions to in order to be able to do this? 

19th June Jupiter 7 degrees Taurus Sextile Saturn 7 degrees Pisces
I don’t usually talk about sextiles because they are not so dramatic as conjunctions, squares and oppositions, but this is such a supportive relationship I can’t let it pass by. 

This galactic kiss across the cosmos is the first interaction between these two planets since the powerful conjunction that occurred back in December 2020 which began an entirely new Jupiter/Saturn cycle. 

What started or seed was planted for you back in December 2020? What has been rumbling along in the background since then? This transit will bring things to light in the area of your chart that 7 degrees Taurus and Pisces rule. This can be something concrete and defined, the landing of something in reality, dreams taking shape and form, becoming real. 

21st June Sun enters Cancer, the Summer Solstice 
There is sooo much happening in the heavens this day I really don’t know where to start…

It is a powerful portal as the Sun pauses at the highest, most visible point in the sky, for whole 3 days. 

It is a culmination energy, the tipping point of the Zodiac year. Night begins to reclaim the Day, priorities change as the Sun moves into the sign of the archetypal mother, ruled by the Moon. Traditionally, this is the season for healing your Mother Wound. (We all have one, no matter how lovely your mother was).

But this is not the only feminine archetype that is activated when the masculine principle the Sun is at his zenith. Every single Goddess energy in the heavens is on show and making herself known, demanding her presence is acknowledged and recognised.

• Pallas Athena conjuncts Lilith and Mars 
• The Moon conjuncts Venus
• Pluto trines Vesta

26th June 2023 Mercury enters Cancer 
Mercury dances out of social, flighty Gemini and into the emotionally sensitive sign of Cancer giving your communication a sensitivity and emotional awareness. Cancer is also the sign of instinct and emotional intelligence, trust your gut over this transit and you won’t go wrong.
